J.E. Gourgue was born in 1930 in Port-au-Prince,Haiti. He has participated to many international exhibitions and auction sales in the States : Christies' and Sotheby's. He was the first haitian painter alive to be sold at one of the auction sales for $28,000.00. Today,.without contestation possible, today more than ever, Jacques Enguerrand Gourgue remains of our most important painters.
